KHi and his interview with Anthar Racca
[CZ]

I am standing on a white sandy beach. High tide is gone and some areas are reminding me sticky clay, but the rest of the beach is just like from a paradise. Actually it is only my third day here and I am not really into anything crazy yet considering 30 days ahead of me. A young man just attracted my attention while pumping his 13 meter c-shape kite.

Mmm, isnt it too big for that strenght of the wind, I am asking myself. And booties, well thats a sign of an advanced rider but not always, of course. I am coming up with a question like

P: "Any special tricks today buddy..?"
   A: "...sure, blindjudge 7, double s-bend 5 maybee..."

that's the answer I am getting. Well I was not expecting that, lets see young man!

It all happened here!

Not only me but everybody around are staring, most of the crowd have'nt heard about wakestyle ever but those comments sound like form a world tour stand.

This guy didn't lie...

And here we go

Riding with your dog, unique!

Let's do a quick photosession, I am proposing. Of course, there is no need for any specific instructions, you just need to press the button on your camera. I have got only a smart phone on me but whatever... Boom, low front mobe. I am not really familiar with the wake terminology but but what I am observing I can see blindjudge 7, S-bend 7, and double s-bend 7 in a process. Well, how long might these knees last for? Father of this your gentleman is taking a footage of every single jump he makes. I guess there will be a lof of studying tonight...

KGB for warm-up.

...with a grab, its a must

P: The girl who came with you today have you been dating her?
A: No, we know each other since we had been children. She does kiting too and if me and my dad are going to Isla Blanca to kite, sometimes she goes with us.

P: And have you been dating someone recently?
A: I had been dating one girl but she did not kite. We stopped dating.

I dont even remember what was it this time :)

P: Last year (2015) you became Youth U17 World Champion. Does it help you with girls?
A: It helps but it don't lake to take an advantage of it. I rather wanna work on my technique (laughing).

PWhat did help you to win your last competition?
A: There was a fucking strong wind in France. I was doing only "safe tricks", just simple tricks like backmobe, blind judge... one year ago in Spain in the junior (something) I had a perfect hit. I did double cat cat mobe. You do classic back roll first and then inverted back roll and then you pass the bar behind your back.

PWhat would you say is your most difficult trick you are able to land today?
A: Now, after my trip in Brazil, my hardest tricks are slim 9, one s7 (s-bend 7) and double s-bend5.

PWhat came up on your mind when you had heard about Carlos Mario triple pass?
A: Thats crazy. Of course, I would like to try it but it probably takes me to land it maybe one or two years. For doing this kind of tricks you must live in Brazil!!.

And here we go

Blindjudge 7

P: Back home in Puerto Morelos, how often do kite?
A: When is the "season" season, then three times, four times a week.

P: Do you stay in Puerto or do you go to Isla Blanca?
A: I kite in Puerto only if it is really late and then I go for a quick session. When it is beautiful in Puerto it is beautiful in La Punta in Isla Blanca and when is beautiful in La Punta I go there.

Low front mobe in its beauty

P: When did you start with kiting?
A: I started when I was seven. I always kited a lot. When I was young, I was always the first on the water and I put the kite down with the sunset. Now I cannot do that anymore. If I ride that long, the next day I feel very bad.

P: And when did you start with wakestyle?
A: When I was nine I started with raileys to blind. Wakestyle always attracted me the most, for example when saw Aaron Hadlow videos, I also loved Ruben Lenten megaloops. But the wind here in Isla Blanca is not strong enough for doing megaloops.

P: Can you do all your tricks on choppy water?
A: No. And I have never had a competition with good conditions. The water is always choppy in competition.

P: When you wanna learn a trick, how you do it?
A: I just keep on trying. I dont ask anybody how to do it. I think seeing your own videos is the best thing, it helps you the most. You just need to feel the movement and try and try and try.

P: I saw your father filming you almost every time you had worked on something...
A: Yes, at the beginning he liked it but now he does not anymore (laughing).

Again low front mobe

Backmobe with a grab

P: At this moment can you get any money from your sponsors?
A: No way I am getting money. Because paying for going to competition is very expensive. Before my father had to pay everything. Now airush gives me some money but of course it is not enough. Now Red Bull next year will give me some money. It might help partly cover my travel expenses. There is also no competition in America. It is always in Europe, Africa...

P: Which spot is the best for you?
A: Probably Dakhla in Marocco. If you mean when I compete.

P: And if you can go where ever you want, which spot would you choose?
A: Definitely Brazil. The lagoons there are perfect. I love Prasonisi in Greece too. Even if the spot is so crowded, you go early in the morning and while sunset you are good. In Brazil even during the season you can kite all day long but there is three hours when it gets crowded. Prasonisi is crazy. It is impossible to kite during the midday because all the schools teach their students in the sun on the off shore site and everybody wants to be close to the beach.

Everything is happening in super heights, scary!

P: Who is your kite buddy who do you like to kite the most?
A: Here in Mexico it is hard to find somebody who can progress with. There are some young guys here in Isla Blanca starting with kiting. If you are two it helps you a lot. All my progress within a year happens always only in Brazil. I just see Carlos Mario doing his tricks and I just say fucking hell......

P: Was it your father who motivated you into kiting?
A: I was into freestyle on my own. But if was my father who was pushing me into competitions. He is actually my biggest sponsor I have ever had. He usually went to every competition with me but last year I was on my own.

Changing their roles

Thats him

And Foka, the Father of Anthar is here and he is rushing home, our talk has to come to the end.

Father and son posing at the end of their session

I met Antar Racca, the mexican boy with italian roots at his home spot in Isla Blanca in Mexico. In 2015 he became U17 World Champion. Sponsored by Airush, Mystic, Ikarus and Redbull.

Good luck Anthar and Foka and see you guys soon! ;)
